curebit is the hot new website and the functionality works as follows:
- Buyer purchases at online store
- After fulfilling checkout, gets the options to share an offer with friends over facebook and twitter, just by one click "Share this with friends to get $5 to spend on this same online store"
- Sharing places the promo message on the buyer's Facebook / twitter
- Once succesfull lead (friends click through and make a purchase) initial buyer gets $5 in credit (or reward points)

So this is equal to the referral program. The difference is:
- the buyer doesn't need to seperately sign up be a referral (every buyer has the option)
- referring takes very little effort (just click share)
- referral message is under the control by admin
